Requirements

You will be required to:

Undergo rigorous recruitment processes

Provide documentation to verify your identity

Provide names of 2 referees, one being your last employer

Attend a personal interview

Complete a health declaration form

Complete a Criminal Convictions declaration form and Enhanced CRB check


Application Process:

Please call us, to request an application form. This may be sent to you electronically or via mail.

Complete the application form and submit it to us via the website or through the post.

If you meet the required personal specification, then you will be invited to attend a personal interview, following the feedback from your referees.

If you are successful following the interview, we will then offer you a registration position subject to a satisfactory enhanced CRB disclosure.

All registered care-workers should have the following training before completing their first placement with Choice Homecare.

There are several options available to assist with your training and development. Options include e-learning, tutored courses and distance learning, and we are able to advise you on the most cost effective options available.

You may also be required to complete a Health Questionnaire following registration.

Care-worker roles:

We register 2 types of care-worker.

Companion care-workers

have an excellent aptitude for caring, but may not have extensive experience.

They need to be able to:

Prepare appetising meals.

Complete house-hold chores such as dusting, laundry and ironing.

Accompany clients on outings.

Assist with shopping, bills and other correspondence.

Provide companionship.

Prompt medication.

Drive (if required).

Assist with washing and dressing tasks through prompting, supervision or by providing light assistance if required.

Premier care-workers

have had past caring experience and are able to:

Do everything a companion care-worker may do.

Assist with eating, washing, dressing and toileting.

Assist with a bath or shower.

Help move clients safely using a particular method.

Use equipment, which may require special training e.g. Hoists.

Attend to the needs of clients with particular conditions e.g. Dementia.

Are skilled at working closely with other health professionals.

International Applicants

It is vital that all international applicants have the following:

The right to live and work within the UK.

Conversational English to a high standard.

Knowledge of British food and preparation.

We may be able to assist with accommodation in the UK, and will advise and assist you to:

Set up a bank account.

Registering as self employed.

Advise you on Insurance cover, etc
